Gigi Betta
Office Manager and Executive Assistant

Gigi oversees all accounting and administrative practices, manages licensing and grants and provides executive as well as project specific support. Gigi holds a B.A. in Business & Economics from Mills College in Oakland, CA.

Jon Brooks
QA Engineer

Jon is responsible for testing and quality assurance of both Fathom and Sketchpad. He specializes in finding and researching defects in the software, both from a user's perspective, and by analyzing code. Before coming to KCP Technologies, Jon worked in software QA in the video game industry. Jon's background is in music, and has a degree from Oberlin College in Music Technology. Before working in software QA, he did work as an Audio Engineer.

Rick Gaston
Research and Project Manager

Rick Gaston is the Research and Project Manager at KCP Technologies. His focus in Data Games is project coordination, classroom observation, user testing, data gathering, and data analysis.

Scott Johnson
Software and Support Engineer

Scott is responsible for the build and release process for both Sketchpad and Fathom. In 2006 he earned an MS in Computer Science from California State University, Hayward, focusing on areas such as operating systems development, computer networks, and cryptography. Before joining KCP Technologies, he received a BA in History from San Francisco State University in 1999 and worked for several years as a web developer for CNET and the US Coast Guard.

Matthew Litwin
Senior Software Engineer

Matt is a software engineer with KCP Technologies, where he works on both Sketchpad and Fathom programming projects. Before joining KCP Technologies, Matt graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994, receiving a BS with a major in Mathematics. In 1997 he received an MS in Mathematics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. As a graduate student he programmed extensively in C and C++ as part of his research into graph theory and modular functions.

Ian Rosenfield
Software Tester

Ian provides Quality Assurance and Technical Support for the Fathom and Data Games projects. Ian started his QA career at a large video game company where he worked on prominent Xbox and PlayStation titles. After a tangential stint in airport security, he worked at an educational toy company providing QA for preschool toys and interactive books.

Scott Steketee
Senior Curriculum and Materials Developer

Scott taught mathematics and computer science in Philadelphia public schools for 18 years, during which time he developed several award-winning educational programs. He has worked on The Geometer's Sketchpad® since 1992, doing software development, curriculum development, and professional development. Scott is involved in curriculum development, software design, and field testing for the Dynamic Number project. He is also an adjunct instructor of Secondary Math Methods in the Teacher Education Program at the University of Pennsylvania.

Kirk Swenson
Senior Software Engineer

Kirk has been Fathom's Lead Programmer for ten years. He is responsible for much of Fathom's architecture, including its cross-platform infrastructure. Before that, he wrote software for running visual perception experiments for three different vision science laboratories. He graduated from Swarthmore College with majors in Physics and Psychology and a concentration in Computer Science and then pursued graduate study in Cognitive Psychology and Vision Science at the University of California, Berkeley under the auspices of a National Science Foundation fellowship before settling on a career as an engineer.
